Link Building - Reciprocal Links

Link building is one of the hottest and most talked about topics.

Linking to or between sites in general can actually generate business opportunities. But as a whole you should not rely upon this to generate sales income.

Think of it like this, if you were a Carpenter would you place a link to another Carpenter on your home page, I think not. When you do get someone visiting your site, you want to promote yourself, you want the coin in your pocket, not your neighbors.

But linking to a competitor is not a bad thing. Its clear from the amount of interest search engines are paying to links that this is going to be a factor in search engine displays. At some point it is strongly believed that search engine software will eventually be able to tell simply by the links going to your site, what you site is about, or at least what it is not about. So if you are one of our competitors and would like to organize business links we are happy to do so.

Link Farms

Linking with just anyone for the hell of it is something to be watchful of. Maybe not now, but soon, when, who knows, but the time to attract powerful on topic links is now.

Link building by joining a link exchange organization is also to be discouraged, as search engine are aware of this, and eventually these link farming groups will pull everyone participating down.

Business Links

Link Building is something that should always be on your mind. But don't just link because you can.

Always where possible attempt to stay on topic, why would a Carpenter link to a Shoe Maker, its obvious, he just wanted a link.

Unless there is some obscure reason to link to an off topic site, then it's best to stay away.
